Briefing as Volunteer for Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2009...

After Jacob’s Walk of Life, my sis and I went to the briefing as volunteer for Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2009 at Dewan Komanwel, Majlis Sukan Negara Malaysia, Kompleks Sukan Negara.
The briefing started at 10.00 am but we reached there late around 12 pm. Volunteers were having their lunch when we reach there. So we just waited for the route briefing. The briefing was basically dividing us between students of University and public. The public volunteers also divided into male and female category. The female in-charge for the check points while the male as the route guide. Then about 1pm we sat on the bus to familiar with the route. Majority of us were sleeping in the bus from Bukit Jalil to Dataran Merdeka. Then when we reached Dataran Merdeka, there were so many police officers around.
The police escort the 3 buses to show the run route to us. Wow! Feel so excited! Policemen were escort and the bus passed thru opposite direction of the road. Just that moment, feels that we were the KING of the road. Haha..The whole journey was 42 km means the runner full marathon will run 42 km. my goodness! Just imagine I sat in the bus along that journey feel so giddy, if I am the runner, I think I will be in the ambulance after 15 km.

The policeman control the traffic to let the buses goes by the opposite direction of the road.

I am Generation Green...

I pledge to:

· Copy and print on both sides of paper. Better still, we electronic documents!
· Buy reusable food containers and water bottles rather than disposable ones.
· Take public transportation, cycle or walk instead of driving.
· Turn my air conditioner on only if necessary.
· Turn lights off when they are not in use.
· Turn my laptop off when I am not using it.
· Switch appliances off at the wall.
· Brush my teeth with the tap off.
· Recycle items that cannot be reused.
· Shop with reusable bag instead of using paper or plastic.

** This wonderful wording is from the post card by Sunway University College that I got during Green Hunt.

When Can I Watch Transformers?

I was suppose to post my blog about
· Briefing as volunteer for Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2009
· Outing with ‘Animal in the Jungle’
· MENGO Green Hunt
· Volunteer for Standard Chartered KL Marathon

Wow! The list goes so long. Just need the time to post it. Give me some time. I will try my best to post it as soon as possible. Hehe..

Last Friday, my Bee (My Sayang) and I were supposed to watch Transformers. Unfortunately, the ticket was sold out in Galaxy Ampang. So sad! Dunno when only I have the chance to watch. Thus, we just went and have dinner.

What a Day for Me...

Yesterday Big Big Boss (Mr. Gary) called for meeting. His PA informed us the meeting will be at 6.00pm. I was like why he must choose the time when we finish work. My plan was go and watch movie with my siblings in IMAX. My bro bought the ticket for transformers 9pm. I tot if the meeting starts at 6pm, maybe I can make it to watch that movie. Unfortunately, the meeting only started at 8.15pm. Arghh!!! My RM 11 just wasted like that. By the time the meeting finishes, is already 10.30pm. I don’t think I could make it to watch. So sad!! After the meeting, we went for dinner, luckily my Boss treat us. If not, I think everyone will curse him for making us starving.

This morning was a bad day for me; I was putting on my contact lens near the sink in the kitchen because the two bathrooms were occupied by my sis and dad. Then, my right lens dropped before I manage to put on. Luckily I manage to find it back. The right lens safely put on my eyes. Then will be my left lens, again it drop! This time I really can’t manage to find it. Even my parents help me to find it. Really wonder where it can drop. I find all over the place still can’t see the tiny left lens. What can I do? I need to go to work, if I continue with the findings, sure I will late to work. So I have to open a new lens that supposes I open it next month. What a bad morning!!

Jacob's Walk of LIfe 2009 (21 June 2009)

Jacob’s Walk of Life was held on 21 June 2009 (Sunday) at Taman Metropolitan Kepong. Few weeks before the event start, my mum was so excited about the walk, thus my sis had register for us. Just don’t understand why she so excited.

In the tentative, the walk registration starts @ 6.00am. I never tot Malaysians will reach there so early, so I took my own sweet time to get ready that morning. We reached there around 6.30am. Wow!! The crowd was so pack. Cars were so long queue parking beside the road. Luckily my mum asked to make a U-turn, so we parked the car opposite the park. Although we need to cross the pedestrian footbridge at least is nearer than park along the roadside.

The registration counters separate according to alphabet. So I queue up in Q-T and my sis accompany my mum to queue in A-D. After the long queue, finally we got T-shirt, wristband, answer script and pencil.

They provide breakfast for us that are Jacob’s Weetameal and Hi-Iron biscuits. I like the Weetameal, it taste good. There are some people that took the biscuits so many and put in the plastic bags. It a shame of them, why must they keep those biscuits? Just take few and eat it on the spot. Just don’t need to take it back home.

The walk starts around 8.10am. There were almost 5000 participants for the walk. Along the walk route, there were signboards that show basic questions for us to answer and write in the answer script for us to hand in after the walk.

After an hour, we manage to finish the walk. Although it stated is a 5 km walk, but I don’t think I had walk that far. We were really enjoyed because we talk and talk along the walk. At the ending point, we have our goody bags that contain 2 boxes of travel pack biscuits, Anlene Umbrella, 1 week Fitness First Complimentary passes, 25% discount Mizuno voucher, certificate and mineral water.

My First Post...

SALINA has her own blog!!

Act I also dun know what's the motive I open this blog. Maybe I can write when I’m stress or bored in the office. Really hope I have much more free time. My big boss (Mr. Chew) just gave me very challenging work. He wants me to take over their current project from my boss (Miss Helena) coz she will handle a new project soon. Hmm… I hope I can handle it well coz the increment of my salary depends on my working performance. All the best SALINA!! ^_^
